Four Unique Ideas For Your Election Signage

Generally speaking, most people think of election signage as being just corrugated yard signs. While it is a majority of political election signage and is a potential game changer when done correctly, it shouldn’t be the only signage that you utilize. As we talked about in our previous post, Thinking Outside the Box Pt. 1, these days in really pays to think outside the box, when it comes to election time. This time, we’ll talk a few unique ideas for different types of political signage.

Get Out the Vote
If you have areas of your district that you know (through demographics, polling, or past electoral history) that you have a large lead over your opponent, then put out signs targeting that area. For example, if you have a neighborhood that is 60-90% in your favor, then put out signs in that area that reminds them where the polling centers are and when the voting is set to begin.
Geographically Targeted
Creating signage that is location specific is a great way to portray an image of your candidate that says that they understand he issues and they “get” the voters in those neighborhoods. For example, if your campaign revolves around lowering the crime rate, then print up political signs that highlight how you plan to lower the crime rate in those specific areas. This will not only portray an image of understanding, but will help to humanize the candidate.
The Issues
Running a series of signs that hit on your solutions to the major issues in your campaign will help build the constituents trust in you when they see that you have an actual plan and don’t just talk about fixing the problem. As an example, if a major issue in the race is taxes, then run a series a few steps you would take to lower the taxes.
Going Negative
Running a negative campaign is a contentious subject and can be deal breaker one way or the other for supporters that are the fence. If you do choose to go negative in your campaign, political signage can be an excellent way to do it. A series of signs could be printed up discussing the differences between the candidate and the opponent, and highlighting the candidate’s strengths while highlighting the opponent’s weaknesses. This can be a dangerous move, though, as you run the risk of being labeled with negative perception.
