Where is the best place to place your signs?
The whole point of a political yard sign campaign is to build momentum and name recognition. The only way that’s going to happen is if your signs get noticed. The major thoroughfares and intersections of your district are a great place to start. The busiest businesses and other high traffic areas are next.
However, simply flooding your district with signs won’t quite do the job. The next step is to get your signs into the yards of prominent community and opinion leaders throughout your district. This helps instill trust in your campaign which in turn helps to build momentum. Imagine Jane Doe, she doesn’t like to get into politics too much and she’s really too busy to do any research. She comes home one day to find your campaign sign in the yard of her neighbor Jim Smith
Now, she doesn’t know Jim that well, but she knows a lot of people trust him and from what she hears, he has similar values, so if he supports you, well than, you must be a pretty good candidate.
Come Election Day, if Jane Doe doesn’t really know who to choose, she’ll remember that Jim Smith supported you. If all she has to go on is that Jim supports you and she knows nothing of the other candidates, chances are, you’ve gotten one more vote.
Make sure that your yard sign campaign isn’t just about quantity, it needs to be about quality as well.
