Great Uses for Old Campaign Signs

Free Campaign Consultation

We all want to reduce, re-use, or recycle, to help reduce our own carbon footprint. After campaign season, there’s always a large excess of sidewalk signs lying around. So, this time around, try one if the following ways to get rid of them instead of letting them just sitting in a dump somewhere.

Build a Birdhouse
Over at Apartment Therapy they have some instructions on how to take your some coroplast sidewalk signs and turn them into a lightweight yet durable birdhouse. If you didn’t like the design on them, it would only take a coat of primer and paint to make it your own!
Donate Them to a Good Cause
There are multiple companies that use corrugated plastic for a number of reasons, including their durability and ease of cleaning. Over at Last Chance Forever they discuss how they reuse old coroplast yard signs:
“Small signs are used to modify standard transport kennels so that the large metal mesh that can catch and damage feathers won't create a hazard for birds in transit. Larger signs make easy-to-clean floor mats for perching birds. Rather than using newspaper once, a sheet of coroplast can be cleaned and reused for a year or more until it becomes brittle. The largest signs become wall liners and shade screens in the birds' chambers”
Reuse Them as a Sign
Finally, a simple coat of primer and paint and these signs can be reused as any other needed lightweight, durable signage (i.e. For Rent, Garage Sale signs).
